“According to Bakhtin’s perspective of speech genres (1986), “Language is realized in the form of individual concrete utterances (oral and written) by participants in the various areas of human activity. As an example, we can mention the linguistic style and compositional structure used in WhatsApp chats: acronyms, emoticons and sounds of language replaced with units such as c for ‘see,’ sum1 for ‘someone’, etc. Some of these structures are shown in the excerpt below:
